Safe Work at Height

Overview

The course aims to enable the participant to prevent all injuries and accidents when working at heights and ensure they are able to provide a safe area for other employees who may enter their risk zones.

Candidates will understand the differences between preventatives, protective, collective and personal control measures, from guardrails and nets to restraint and fall arrest equipment.

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Working at Height regulations
  • PPE regulations
  • Working locations and conditions
  • Risk Assessment of hazards associated with height
  • Responsibilities
  • Anchor Points
  • Harness Checks
  • Use of harness
  • Climbing and use of lanyards
  • Ladder types and identification
  • Correct handling and storage of ladders
  • Practical inspection and identification of ladder faults
  • Safe Systems of work
  • BSEN standards
  • Fragile materials
  • Safety nets
  • Emergency arrangements

Course Benefits

After completing the course, participants should be able to work safely at height and understand full use of all equipment and safety precautions needed to prevent accidents.

The participant will receive a Safe Working at Heights certificate on completion of the course.

Who Should Attend

The course is aimed at those individuals who are working at height or whose work environment may result in them working at a height.

Qualifications you gain

Upon completion, delegates will receive a certificate that will last for 3 years. This course will need to be completed again if delegates wish to renew this qualification.
